Orihuela Costa lies in the south of Alicante province, in the Vega Baja del Segura. It takes in La Zenia, Playa Flamenca, Punta Prima, Villamartín and Los Dolses, with beaches such as Cala Bosque, Cala Cerrada, Cala Estaca and Playa de Punta Prima. Taking La Zenia and Playa Flamenca as the reference, Alicante-Elche airport is some 45-50 minutes away by car, Murcia 45-50 and the city of Alicante 55-60. The municipality of Orihuela covers more than 365 km².

Orihuela Costa ended 2025 with 30,171 registered residents and a markedly international profile, with British, Spanish and Ukrainian among the largest groups.
