El Albir is the coastal centre of l'Alfàs del Pi, in the Marina Baixa, Alicante province, between Benidorm and Altea and at the foot of the Serra Gelada. The municipality covers 19.26 km² and had 20,160 inhabitants according to the INE in 2024. From here, Alicante is about 45 minutes away by car and Alicante-Elche airport about 50. Its seafront opens onto Racó de l'Albir beach, a pebble beach, next to the Paseo de las Estrellas.
For year-round living you will find a medical centre, the CEIP Racó de l'Albir primary school, supermarkets and TRAM and bus links to l'Alfàs, Benidorm and Altea. Housing combines apartments near the beach with detached homes in the residential areas, alongside recent developments. The resident profile is very international, and the municipal planning documents point to a growing permanent population. Nearby you have the Serra Gelada Natural Park, the Club Náutico de Altea and the Meliá Villaitana courses.
