Property for sale in La Marina

La Marina is a district of the municipality of Elche, in the Baix Vinalopó, Alicante province, about 32 minutes by car from the city of Alicante (29 km) and a little over 20 minutes from Alicante-Elche airport. It has around 2,500 inhabitants according to Elche town council (2018 figure) and is the municipality's largest district, at almost 23 km². Its beaches include La Marina itself (1,500 metres, with Blue Flag status), Les Pesqueres-El Rebollo and El Pinet, along with dunes, the Sierra del Molar and the pine wood the place is named after. To the north it borders the Salinas de Santa Pola Natural Park.

The prevailing housing is chalets and one- or two-storey houses, many on generous plots near the beach, alongside the odd apartment in the village centre. La Marina draws mostly second homes, with a strong presence of foreign owners who spend long stretches here. It has a medical surgery, a state school (CEIP La Marina), shops and an international campsite, in a setting where tourism drives much of the local economy.
