La Florida is an inland area in the middle of Orihuela Costa, between the coast and the neighbourhoods further south, less than 30 minutes on foot from Punta Prima and Playa Flamenca beaches. Local life gathers on calle Escorpio, with bars, restaurants, a park, a children's playground and tennis courts.
Housing is spread across residential streets and developments throughout the neighbourhood. For daily needs there is the Centro Comercial La Florida, on calle Escorpio itself, and The Emerald Isle, a leisure complex with a pool and a lawn bowls club. Public transport in the area is limited.
