Torre de la Horadada runs along the sea, with Higuericas beach as its landmark: 1,405 metres of sand with a Blue Flag, between Puerto beach to the north and Mojón beach to the south. It has a seafront promenade, parking right by the shore, and the Club Náutico Torre de la Horadada as its marina. The watchtower from 1591, built as part of the coastal defence system of Philip II, stands over the whole area.
Housing is concentrated on the first and second lines back from the beach, with villas, townhouses and apartments across the streets of the hub. It is a holiday and second-home area, though people also live here year-round. For daily needs there are local supermarkets such as Villa Teresa and Playa, plus shops and bars in the streets near the beach.
