Pinar de Campoverde lies inland, about 7 km and 12 minutes by car from the centre of Pilar de la Horadada, beside the Río Seco streambed and at the foot of the Sierra de Escalona. The land is hilly, with streets that climb and dip and take their names from plants and herbs.
Housing is mostly detached chalets and villas, many of them built as part of the urbanisation from the late 1960s onward. It is a mix of permanent residents and second-home owners in roughly equal measure, with shops such as Spar, a weekly street market, and the chapel of Ntra. Sra. Santa María del Rosario as the hub's landmark.
