Playa del Arenal-Bol, Calpe's family beach in front of the old town, with a Roman site you can still swim in.
10 properties available in this neighbourhood.
The Arenal-Bol runs for 1,200 metres in front of Calpe's old town, between Cantal Roig beach to the north and La Manzanera to the south, at the foot of the Peñón de Ifach. The promenade passes the Baños de la Reina: a Roman villa with its baths and a 2nd-century fish farm cut into the rock, six linked pools that used the tides and where people still swim and snorkel today. Right beside it stands the tower of the old flour mill, from the 19th century.
It is an urban beach of fine sand, with a more family feel than Levante and with shops, restaurants and ice-cream parlours along the whole promenade. It has a Blue Flag and full services: lifeguards, boardwalks, sunbed hire and assisted bathing in summer, with amphibious chairs and adapted toilets and showers.
