La Finca Golf spreads around the course of the same name, in the Vega Baja del Segura and some 35 minutes from Alicante-Elche airport. The 18-hole, par-72 layout was designed by José Gancedo — known in Spain as the Picasso of golf — and opened in August 2002: wide fairways, greens of unusual shapes, and a waterfall and lake between the 5th and 6th holes. The ground is uneven, so the plots work with the slope and many houses look down over the course.
The housing is mostly villas and detached houses, many with their own pool, along the landscaped streets and communal areas you would expect of a golf development. Inside the grounds are the clubhouse with its restaurant, the pro shop and the academy, plus a five-star hotel with a spa.
